Charles X bronze encrier with exuberant relief decoration throughout in the Gothic taste. Five urns at the top including two for quills. A truly beautiful example - note handmade screws and nuts at the bottom. Made up of several individual pieces as expected with period French bronze articles. Nice foliate handles at each side. Good overall condition - missing a nut at the bottom. Measures approximately 12.75" over handles x 5.75" deep x 6" tall. Nice stepped base and feet make for pleasing proportions. Wonderful and useful on the desk. Fully decorated on all sides so the encrier can sit on your desk and someone seated on the other side will see pleasing decoration as well - meant to float. less
