Chinese export porcelain plates decorated with a central reserve showing a vase of peonies within a rare black border enhanced by gilding. The combination of colors including pink and yellow is quite successful. These measure 8 7/8" in diameter. One plate in good condition with a few small chips under the rim visible on the back and faint hairline. Second plate broken and restuck - no over painting - displays well.
