I deliberately left some of the original patina on the candlesticks to give highlights and definitions to the "grape leaf" motif and the beautiful undulating designs on the bottom of the holder that so define the era of 1910-15th. when Art Nouveau thrived. I bought these at an antique store in West Hollywood California. less
