A beautiful vintage mosaic tesselated stone and brass box with Axtec calender and mahogany lining by artist Salvador Tehran (Mexico 1920-1974) Tehran was a designer/innovator of jewelry making and mosaics and was a founding member of Los Castillos, the legendary Taxco artisans, circa 1960s. Stamped on underside side- Hecho en Mexico.
