In 1967, the Beatles and their manager reached out to American photographer Richard Avedon to help create the psychedelic visualisation first realised musically in their most recent album at the time - Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band.

These portraits of each band member: Ringo Starr, George Harrison, Paul McCartney and John Lennon acted as a point of reference for other imagery of the era, perfectly capturing the zeitgeist of the 1960's. This Ringo Starr portrait features the iconic colour manipulation using vivid blue.
