Crafted in Provence, France circa 1920, each comfortable fauteuil stands on cabriole legs decorated with acanthus leaves at the shoulder, … more Crafted in Provence, France circa 1920, each comfortable fauteuil stands on cabriole legs decorated with acanthus leaves at the shoulder, and ending with escargot feet. Both armchairs have a tall and arched back, a wide and deep seat with open curved armrests decorated with acanthus leaf motifs, and a scalloped apron embellished with hand carved shell and foliate motif on all four sides. Both antique fauteuils are upholstered with a floral chenille fabric in the beige palette, and fixed with piping trim. The large provincial armchairs are in excellent condition with a rich walnut patina throughout. Use this elegant pair of heavily carved armchairs to decorate a study or office.
