This cyanotype was printed recently on heavy cotton watercolor paper. The image was taken in 1995 with a homemade pinhole camera and signed by the artist, me, Christine Kiebert-Boss.
This image is of a friend of mine in the beautiful Conservatory Gardens on the Upper East Side of NYC.
Every print is one-of-a-kind. The cyan is handpainted onto the paper before exposure to the sun so the edges of blue will always be different. I like the edges to be rough and show the brush strokes. Also, the cyan formula reacts differently to different paper and different weather and there is a little bit of guess in terms of exposure time under the sun.
