Magnificent 19th century Continental European solid silver enamel hand painted compact. This is a part of a collection that I acquired from an old estate.
This striking and large antique unique compact has a spectacular motif with cobalt and light blue enamel and a hand painted scene in the center. Box has beautiful hand chasing (including the underside) and opens up to the original mirror and powder puff. It measures 3-1/4" long by 2-3/4" wide and weighs 3.8 ounces.
The piece is in superb condition with all of the enamel in tact. We have not completely polished the silver, leaving it up to the buyer if the wish to do so.
