A very early American pitcher
Salt glazed stoneware jug with one handle and a spout used in a household to store possibly water or milk
Nice dark brown color, thick walls, thick glaze, heavy
Incised pair of band for decoration
Hand thrown with extremely fine proportions
A majestic piece of early Americana
Circa late 18th/early 19th century, New England (found in Massachusetts)

Measurements: Approx. 12 " tall x 9.75" spout to handle x 7.75" base diameter.
Weighs about 13lbs.
Condition: Very Good overall. Definitely no major problems - chips, cracks, hairlines or restorations. Glaze accretion from the kiln close to the bottom rim. Please see photos below. All original.
