It is in its beautiful original condition having … more Fantastic antique Indian Punjabi handmade and hand painted wood wedding ceremonial chair. It is in its beautiful original condition having been carved, painted and woven and now gently worn. The seat is woven coated cane and the wood arms are woven with wrapped edges to hold them in place. The chair has a lot of decoration with spools, pegs, finials and embedded decorative metal and mirror fragments. The hand painting throughout is magnificent and shows a lot of wear. The color red symbolizes virility and happiness for a marriage. These chairs are rare and hard to come by and with all of its patina remains structurally sound and solid. This chair is a work of art while also utilitarian.
