Whether she’s part of the Olympic volleyball team or…? She’s a winner, that’s for sure -- and doing something other than posing to glorify her body.

Perhaps the designer was… a woman? Looking into the future?

She has a serious look of focus and determination, and her athletic build suggests that she can back it up!

This porcelain sculpture is German, and although it’s fuzzy and hard to read, “Germany” seems to be written under the crown and shield mark. I’ve researched the mark and the closest I’ve come suggests that she’s from Nymphenburg. Exquisitely accomplished, as one would expect from pre-WWII Germany. One viewer wrote: The artist is Heinz Schaubach and the stamp is Unterweissbach of Thuringia.

She stands 11 inches to the top of her head; add another ½ inch to the top of the ball. Width, about 8; depth, about 3 ½. less
