Description: An excellent rare monumental vintage Japanese Six Panel Screen depicting a lovely landscape with blossoming cherry trees, river, mountains, clouds, … more An excellent rare monumental vintage Japanese Six Panel Screen depicting a lovely landscape with blossoming cherry trees, river, mountains, clouds, and red-crowned cranes. Kano School Tradition. The screen has a large area of raised relief lacquer maki-e design. Gouache and ink on gold leaf over paper. Goldwork (gold threads) silk border. Exquisite large bronze corners and medallions, engraved with flowers and leaves, showing age patina, on lacquered wood frame. Silk-like paper on back. Detailed artwork and high-end quality of materials. Comes as one of a pair from an old estate in Japan. Very good condition for age, some age wear and losses on the backs and border, no damage to the painting, sturdy, clean. Japan, Shōwa era, circa 1920s-1980s.
