This Henri Matisse vintage 1973 Mid Century Modern lithograph print " The Snail L'escargot " 1953, is a very special and unique piece to add to your collection.
Henri Matisse ( 1869 - 1954 ) The French born artist is known for both his sense of color and fluid aesthetic. Matisse is commonly regarded, along with Picasso as one of the most important artists who helped to define and influence radical Contemporary Art of The Twentieth Century. His mastery of the expressive language of color and drawing won him recognition as a leading figure in world Modern Art. art works by Matisse are included in the collections of many of the world's most prestigious museums.
The Modernist lithograph print was printed in 1973 in Japan. It features an artwork image originally created by Matisse in 1953 titled " The Snail L'escargot ". The lithograph print is a page from an authentic vintage artists publication. The lithograph print plate is attached to the page with a method called " tipping " where it is attached by hand on 3 corners. This print is suitable for framing.
The lithograph print image measures 8 1/2" w X 8 1/2" H, on a page that is 9 1/4" W X 12 1/4" H. it is in excellent vintage condition with very light signs of handing. It has never been framed. Please see photos for condition reference. It is now being offered here for an excellent price. less
