This rare 1980's Vintage Thomasville Sawbuck Dining Room Table and Set of 6 Tavern Chairs are from Thomasville's 1980's Country Collection. The 53-piece collection featured casual contemporary styling with a light natural finish over the grained ash wood.
The Sawbuck Dining Room Table has two sets of crossed "sawbuck" legs with a large 70" x 40" top. The ends of the table feature wood trim pieces that pull out to extend the table so the two leaves may be inserted. The table can be used with one or both leaves (see photo #6).
The six Tavern Chairs are tall and comfortable. Each one is individually handmade so no two are alike or the exact same measurements. The condition is good, but the tops of the chair arms do show some wear that is appropriate for the age of the furniture. The last photo shows some cracks in the back of two of the chairs that can be glued.
Table measurements are 70" W x 40" D x 30" H.
The inside width of the table legs is 31" in. and outside width is 37".
Leaf measurement 18” H x 40” W.
Chairs measurements are 22.5" W x 27.25" D x 45.25" H.
Chair seat measures 20" W x 17.25" D x 18" H.
Seat height is 18".
Arm height is 27.5". less
