This Hollywood Regency style circular table base was produced in the the 1940's by Grosfeld House. It has four hand-carved Prince of Wales plumes on a two-tiered base.
Founded by Albert Grosfeld and David Ancona in 1933, Grosfeld House has a reputation for putting a creative spin on the classics with more swagger than other designers dared attempt. Their custom made pieces of the 1940's earned them accolades as they re-imagined neoclassical and rococo furniture in inventive ways that combined wood, Plexiglas and mirrors. Grosfeld House creations became desirable staples in the homes of those who considered themselves fashion-forward.
