We joyfully present to you a signed and numbered (74/100) color serigraph from the “Great Cities of the World” series … Read more We joyfully present to you a signed and numbered (74/100) color serigraph from the “Great Cities of the World” series by Risaburo Kimura (Japan, 1924-2014). Kimura became a master of the serigraph process and was a pivotal artist in revitalizing the traditional Japanese method of printmaking. His work is on permanent display in many museums around the world, including MoMA, the Brooklyn Museum, and The Morikami Museum in Japan. We had this serigraph professionally framed in a simple natural finished wood frame that we feel would be fitting for the 1970’s period that this print was produced. The image measures 21” wide X 26” high, and framed it measures 24” wide X 30” high. Signed, dated, and numbered in graphite pencil. Whether you are a collector of Kimura’s work, or an admirer of the 70’s modernist design, this fantastic piece of art (and history) should be hanging in your home. There is a little visible wear in the upper left hand corner not on the image, and a very very faint scuff at the bottom that is hardly noticeable, even when trying to photograph it.
