Very stylish Claude-Paz Et Silva table lamp consisting of a chrome round base and 3 chrome rods holding a transparant glass globe with crackle design. A cast iron counterweight inside the base makes this a very solid heavy lamp.. The bottom of the base has the manufacturers tag 'Claude Lumière' The original B22 bajonet socket has been replaced for a convenient brass E14 socket and an on/off switch is mounted on the base. The lamp is a great condition for its age, without any wear or scratches to the chrome. It's an absolute beauty.
Height: 38 cm/ 14,96 "
Base: ∅ 10 cm / 3.93”

Claude-Paz Et Silva
The company Claude-Paz Et Silva was founded in 1933. The company is the result of the merger between Claude Lumière, founded in 1930 by the two nephews Georges (1870-1960) and André Claude (1900-1950) and Paz & Silva, founded in 1900. André Claude became the president of the company.
They manufactured household appliances and neon light commercials (patented Georges Claude processes, the inventor of the neon light). The company was acquired by JC Decaux, today well known for the billboard publicity.
In 1956, the company merged with Visseaux to form Claude Paz & Visseaux. The full name of the company remains “Claude Paz & Visseaux” but the logo is shortened to just “Claude“, as you can see on the aluminium label. Viseaux was founded in 1900 by Jacques Visseaux (1872-1952), specialized in the manufacture of appliances for gas lighting.
In 1966 absorbed by the American group ITT (International Telephone & Telegraph) and in 1980 by the group GTE (General Telephone & Electronics Corporation); after 1993, taken over by SLI France (Sylvania Lighting International France). less
