Antique Late 19th Century Stained Leaded Glass Shade Hanging Light Chandelier

This gorgeous hanging lamp was my grandmother's. She came to this country in the mid 1800's. She lived in Alabama. … more This gorgeous hanging lamp was my grandmother's. She came to this country in the mid 1800's. She lived in Alabama. Family lore dates this lamp to about 1869.

The shade is made of colored glass and what appears to be lead. It appears to be in the Art Nouveau style with flowers, circles, and lots of curves, arches, and rhythmic, repetitive shapes. The entire bottom of this shade is encircled in blue, scalloped, colored glass. The colors, blue, rose, yellow, green, and more, are vivid. The lamp most certainly was made by hand. Each piece of glass has been meticulously placed into a repetitive pattern.

The shade is securely attached by a chain from the top of the shade to the ceiling. This measurement of the chain is 23". From that point to the floor, the chain is approximately 11 additional feet long. less
