A Buncheong (also spelled as Punch'ong) stoneware tea bowl from Korea Joseon Dynasty circa 15-16th century. The conical shape bowl in the classical style was shows a slightly irregular form in its flared rim, standing on a small circular base. The surface of the bowl is covered with a gray-greenish glaze. The interior is decorated with two bands of concentric rings, one with five and the other four, between which sandwiched stamped chrysanthemums. The carved lines and stamped patterns were filled with white slip to create the contrasting design. At places, the overglaze of both the interior and exterior shows slight uneven oxidation during the firing and kiln imperfection, partially revealing the red clay underneath. The base shows small circular potter's mark and sand residue as shown.
