A beautiful and imposing George III style partners’ desk with decorative carvings and a gilt-embossed brown leather writing surface. The top has three frieze drawers on each side, a moulded edge and canted and carved corners and rest on two large pedestal bases. Each pedestal has a bank of three functional drawers on one side and storage cabinets on the other, with solid brass pulls, working locks and three keys. The pedestals sit on ogee feet, which are carved with an acanthus motif.
This exquisite desk was made to exacting standards in the manner of Thomas Chippendale. With its impressive proportions, beautiful leather and timeless characteristics, this desk will anchor any classically-styled study or office and float easily in a room. It separates into three parts for ease of transport and storage and is in excellent condition.
