Original oil pastel painting on paper. It has been my pleasure and a joy to paint in France. I explored the cities with their beautiful architecture and always found myself enjoying the spontaneity of painting in plein air in the many wonderful woods forests and rivers. A beautiful scene close to the Seine River outside of Paris was particularly intimate and engaging to my eyes. My inspiration is of the Fauve moment, the color is a personal expression to work out of doors at such a beautiful site. This piece is one of my many paintings in the France. Signed "Holden" lower right.
