These circa 1830 extraordinary pair of palatial dore bronze French Empire candelabra decorated in the center top with patinated bronze figural snuffers on one candelabra is a goddess playing a tambourine on the other one is a satyr playing the pipes-both an homage to music and nature. The candelabra have six curved arms terminating in candleholders. The fluted shaft rises with scrolling articulated vines and leaves. Lovely chain hanging medallions have ladies portraits on each medallion-each signed with the makers mark-HH & H. The candles brightly reflected on the Heiress Rebecca Harkness' dining table while entertaining the world’s society elite and royalty. less
