The beautifully aged gradated brown earthen wine vessel from Thailand, has a beautifully shaped ovoid body, around its neck are well hand constructed lugs for securing or carrying the vase with a rope. Vessels such as this reach back to man's first attempts at craftsmanship. Handcrafted in Thailand between the 15th-18th century. This vessel is has been inspected by a former Sotheby's expert to have been used to export wine as it has direct transfer stamp images in black around the neck-indistinguishable stamp. A very fine and rare piece. less
