One of world's greatest achievements in Art Deco artistry, the Mythological famed "Mariners Bowl" spherical bowl was designed by Sidney Waugh and executed by the Steuben Glass division of corning glass in 1937. Waugh had been hired by Steuben as its chief designer in 1933, and over the next 20 years he designed a wide array of bowls, vases and other glass objects that were decorated with high-style Art Deco figures executed via copper wheel engraving.
