Artist Biography
Filippo Anivitti (1876 – 1955)
Born in Rome, Filippo Anivitti studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, with Filippo Prosperi (1831-1913), holder of the chair of figure.
He then attended the evening courses of Alessandro Morani, at the Industrial Artistic Institute.At the beginning of his artistic career he was attracted to divisionism, but it was only a transitional phase that was nevertheless useful to him to sharpen his sensitivity to the chromatic range.He then joined the XXV artists of the "Compagnia Romana".Onorato Calandi directed him to painting realistic subjects and landscapes.Anivitti's oil paintings are rare but executed with excellent technique, fast and fresh.In 1921 he participated in the Rome Biennale.His works can be found in galleries of modern art in Milan and Rome.
