Vibrant pop art painting by modernist Houston, Texas artist Mario Humberto Kazaz. Artist Statement: Life and the never-ending cycle of things to do and not to do, the errands, the friends, the parties and obligations. All of that for what? If all we really need and want is a little bit of love, even if it is just a little bit of love at night. This piece is inspired by those moments of love that we really need, the romance, the kiss, the emotions that we have felt when we fall in love and we want more even if is
just a little bit of love at night.
Artist Biography: Mario Humberto Kazaz is a Mexican born modernist pop-artist. His art is driven by his interests in perception, movement, embodied experience, and feelings of self. He strives to make the concerns of art relevant to society at large. Art, for him, is a crucial means for turning thinking into doing in the world. Kazaz was born in 1984, in Monterrey, Mexico. He grew up in Texas and self-taught art that was later blended into a style that he developed from a graffiti movement he joined at an early age. He currently works from his studio in the Montrose area, a major art district in the city of Houston. Currently he works in large scale paintings that are inspired by the neo-culture of this new interconnected world of today. less
