Artist Statement: Ella es magia, es la chica perfecta. Ell es magia, un unicornio encantado. Y se eleva como una bella cometa. Y es bien fresa pero eso me prende tambien.
Translation: She is magic, she is the perfect girl. She is magic, an enchanted unicorn. And it rises like a beautiful kite. And it’s a pretty strawberry but that turns me on too.
Artist Biography: Mario Humberto Kazaz is a Mexican born modernist pop-artist. His art is driven by his interests in perception, movement, embodied experience, and feelings of self. He strives to make the concerns of art relevant to society at large. Art, for him, is a crucial means for turning thinking into doing in the world. Kazaz was born in 1984, in Monterrey, Mexico. He grew up in Texas and self-taught art that was later blended into a style that he developed from a graffiti movement he joined at an early age. He currently works from his studio in the Montrose area, a major art district in the city of Houston. Currently he works in large scale paintings that are inspired by the neo-culture of this new interconnected world of today. less
