Modeled after the Crouching Venus by Giambologna.
Depicting the Venus surprised at her bath with an overturned urn at her feet. Mounted on a slate and variegated marble plinth.
Provenance: By repute, from the estate of Catherine Spencer Eddy Beveridge (who was a Socialite and Philanthropist, wife of Senator Beveridge of Indiana, and the niece of Marshall Field) and by descent in her family.
Simply a wonderful bronze sculpture!
