On one side is a depiction of several female musicians playing traditional instruments while other women look on. This scene is highlighted with a beautiful gold background and depictions of landscapes, bonsai trees etc. There are also several still lives which emphasis the arts of calligraphy, tea drinking etc. The reverse side is lacquered in black with floral imagery carved in a lighter color. The feet are brass clad.
