This black and dark red Parmesan Jar from Biordi features the figure of a sitting deer. This classic and elegant pattern on this Italian pottery is a reproduction from a 13th century marble inlay found on the floor of the breathtaking Siena Cathedral.
ARTISAN STORY
Artisan FIMA created these pieces. This pattern from Biordi Art Imports is one of Italy’s oldest dinnerware designs; “il Buon Gallo,” of the Good Rooster, is known to bring good luck and prosperity to the home that keeps it! This style originated during the 13th century in Orvieto, a quaint and magical town on top of a volcanic plateau in Italy. In the Renaissance, Orvieto ceramics and Maiolica were often associated with green colorations. less
