Stunningly beautiful, perfectly patina-ed, late 18th century/Jacobean chest. Likely walnut, the front has intricate carvings - a long frieze of S curves over three inset panels with similar S curves and foliage and an apron. Top is constructed with planks and opens. A key escutcheon appears in the center of the frieze (no key). The stiles flanking the panels continue to straight legs. An absolutely gorgeous piece.
