And there are some cracks in the caulking as well which is to be expected for its age. Other than that I didn’t notice any major damage. less

It was a centerpiece built into a wall in a garden area of a Spanish style Beverly Hills home that sat above a built in garden bench. It seems to be set in a Spanish reproduction frame with a shield. It’s absolutely beautiful in person and has great depth to it, a 3D effect with the details of the tiles. The artwork features two nights jousting one another in attempt to impress the maiden standing by near the trees. Such a romantic medieval scene. Gorgeous colors run throughout with vibrant yellows and blue green. Of all the colors the most impressive and rare is the silver detailing in the knight on the right side. We have only ever seen this color once before in our time doing tiles and that was made by a company called American Encaustic tile co. as a custom-made deal for Mr. Fisher, automotive mogul, in Grosse Isle Michigan. The bottom of the scene reads “macte virtute” which in English can be translated to “success attend your honor”, and I find this to be even more romantic and whimsical. It’s truly a piece to be appreciated by someone who loves the art of the Middle Ages. less
