Exceptionally painted, Refugium Peccatorum, Nuestra Senora del Refugio, (Our Lady Refuge of Sinners), depicting crowned and with halo Madonna (Mary) and Christ Child enthroned above clouds.


A wonderful example of religious folk art and devotional iconography this retablo would have been presented as an offering to the church, likey placed on display on the church altarpiece or similar ornamental structures built and carved over facades and doorways, called overdoors.
