A classic 18th century English Rococo design, based very closely on designs by fashionable Georgian silver smith John Cafe, dated ca. 1760. These very nice later silver on copper candlesticks offer a far more affordable option to the period sterling ones. Unmarked except for the indecipherable heraldic engraving (possibly a dragon?) to the side of each base; polishing over the years has worn away the details of this mark. These candlesticks date to the late 19th century. Good condition with some imperfections, small dings, patina, areas of copper showing through.
