Steuben Vase with Scroll Base, by George Thompson. Blown Offhand. Crystal Art Glass. Form No 7964. @6.125" '. Signed in Diamond Point "Steuben" at the base. This exemplar dates to the 1950s. The vase was produced between 1949-1963 ONLY.
See Pg 261, "Steuben Glass, An American Tradition in Crystal by Mary Madigan, New York, Henry N. Abrams, Inc. 1982.
This vase is lovely lightly flowered or displayed alone. While there are some tabletop scuff marks at the base the vase remains in excellent condition. The Diamond Point is easily seen upon even casual observation of the object but is incredibly difficult to accurately and clearly capture by camera.
