Have you ever seen anything quite like this before? At once elegant, fanciful, grandmotherly, and kitsch -- all at the same time, this mounted porcelain figure is just dazzling. The porcelain is in excellent shape given the age of the piece, with nary a chip or broken finger -- remarkable given all the details and exposed figuration. The velvet back has some staining, but this could be steam-cleaned and refreshed. The loss on the edges of the frame is minor and not immediately noticeable with the drama happening at the core of this artwork.
So unusual to have a dimensional Porcelain figure mounted in such a way. Very special! less
