French artists also worked in the shadow of the famous cathedral back in the day, and that’s exactly where my parents found Monsieur Ducollet at his easel in 1962. Ducollet’s watercolors seemed to capture the very essence of the city, and my parents bought several prints on the spot. (See Ducollet's “sister” print of the Arc de Triomphe, also on Chairish.*) Mom and Dad waited to have the prints framed back in the States, and Dad added a note to memorialize both the trip and the provenance of the print.. You'll find the note where he left it, on the back of the frame.
