Incredible history and life this pair of iconic Jens Risom Lounge Chairs, Model 654W have had. Risom designed this chair in 1941 for Knoll and both of these chairs retain their original label from Knoll's 601 Madison Avenue, NY, address on them. This dates the pair to the 1940s, which means they may be nearly 80 years old, since Knoll moved to its 575 Madison Avenue address in 1951.
The construction and woven leather are still very solid, but the leather does show age and surface wear. There are spots in various places that may have been from drinks or water. We decided to leave the leather alone, since the spots and wear remind us of age spots. Removing them or covering them up would be covering up the life these chairs have lived.
The chairs have plenty of life left in them and can be passed on for generations! less
