A piece of history - a 18th/19th Century 'coin silver' Philadelphia punch ladle or soup ladle by Joseph Lownes (American 1758-1820).
This piece is from a renown American silversmith, beautiful bright-cut engraved geometric borders with bellflowers. Tastefully monogrammed "WL" as shown. Lownes is one of Americas premiere silversmiths represented in numerous museums and collections including The Metropolitan Museum of Art. This is a fine example of his work and ready to grace any table in the home for Thanksgiving or Christmas - or any other occassion..

Late 18th Century/Early 19th Century.
Condition is excellent.
