Which came first, the frame or the art? In this case the frame. When I rescued a pair of vintage bamboo style frames, I wanted to paint something that would really resonate. Bamboo seemed like the logical solution. As I learned about bamboo and how to paint bamboo, I was hooked. How have I gotten to this point in my art career without painting it? In Japanese culture, the symbolism of the bamboo runs deep and offers practical lessons for life and work. One such lesson is to bend but don't break. Following the lead of the bamboo that sways with the breeze, have a solid foundation but move and sway with the harmony of the wind. The wind will wear itself out, but the bamboo, standing tall, remains. Signed watercolor in bamboo style frame. Two saw teeth in the back for options in hanging.
