Pair of ashtrays with cigarette slots by Piero Fornasetti, (circa 1950s, Italy). These examples retailed at Bergdorf Goodman in New York City, as indicated on the reverse. Composed of a grey printed equestrian motif with scroll border and gilded accents over porcelain. Wear consistent with age and materials (gilt loss / fading present). There is one small, partial hairline crack to the interior cigarette slot, which is a result of the firing process, as evidenced by the positioning of the gilt and glaze over it.
