The nature of the flight of a bird in sky makes me romanticise about gliding or flying. I wanted to join the RAF when I was a teenager and later, I even studied physics with a hope to fly for RAF. The sense of freedom when a raven or a seagull leaps off a cliff up in the air riding the wind reminds me of the thermals a glider has to manoeuvre while gliding. I do glide occasionally. I so wish I had wings.
Watching an eagle or seagull stay in flight almost in the same spot by just spreading the wings and letting the wind do the work looks so effortless. Drawing with ink is very zen like. I could be stood on my feet drawing for hours and I don’t feel a thing. less
