- This is a really great piece. I acquired a collection of lent's work directly from his estate a few years … more This is a really great piece. I acquired a collection of lent's work directly from his estate a few years ago and they are all really fantastic works. Lent was a world famous illustrator who won the caldecott award for children's book illustration in 1973. This is a wonderful modernist style cityscape done in collage and colored pencil. I believe it was done as an illustration for a children's book but I cannot confirm that. Image measures 14 3/4 x 18 1/4 inches and is in fantastic condition. The house in the center is a cutout piece of paper that has been taped through the back. Excellent composition. Complete original sheet measures 18 x 20 3/4 inches. Signed and dated lower left corner and titled in pencil lower left margin. Margins show some glue residue from original matte. Really a wonderful work. Wonderful works that would make a great presentation having a couple or a few framed. less
