The artist, Dutch painter Karel Appel, was a founder of the CoBrA movement, together with Constant, Corneille, Christian Dotremont, Asger Jorn, and Joseph Noiret. He was said to have been inspired by both primitive art and children’s drawings. This lithograph is framed behind glass, but there is a tiny crack in the lower right side of the front panel (the crack is far from the art itself; see picture of detail).
Official dimensions are of the art inside the current frame; dimensions of the art itself are 21" tall and 29" wide. less
