Outstanding original Chinese Country scholars chest. The patina is amazing along with the high quality carvings. 3 drawers with 2 piece hardware. The natural wood peeking behind the dark finish really a makes a unique look. The drawers are surrounded by metal strapping and round metal tacks. Very solid and sturdy. Would be great in many locations in the home. What a great addition.
Note: It’s much harder these days to find real Chinese Antiques of quality for many different reasons. I was lucky to find this out of Great Britain. Europe was early on buying Chinese Antiques. Many of the best piece went to Europe back in the day. This holds true for Persian rugs as well. less
