Monica marries her … Read more "Just Us" is a small format, bright contemporary mixed media painting by Hudson Valley artist Monica Shulman. Monica marries her abstract expressionist style with her love of portrait painting and drawing. She created this electrifying abstract by first painting the flat canvas board with acrylic paint in her signature layered and sculptural style and then once dry, she used oil pastel to create this vivid portrait. Monica used varying values and shades of pink and red, with hints of blue, green and orange to create a rhythmic, penetrating portrait that will add dimension and a pop of color to any space. This piece is signed on the back.

Monica has been featured in various publications including Popular Photography, Create magazine, and the Huffington Post. In 2019 she was named "Best Artist" in Westchester by Westchester magazine. Her work has been shown at the American Academy of Arts and Letters in New York City, Photo LA, Art Market Hamptons, the National Association of Women Artists, PULSE Art Fair, and the New York Mercantile Exchange, among others.
