Reflections of nature in water are therapeutic. I do feel at home around nature and water. I guess that is why I paint a lot of it. I can stare at the water for hours, watching the picture in front of me change in sync with the stimulus around me; a gust of wind, wildlife making ripples in the water, or the sun disappearing behind a cloud. All these things mean that the scene in front of me is always changing.
I was feeling a bit lonely that day - walks immersed in nature are good on days like that. It brings me at piece with me.
This drawing was inspired by walks in Dunham, Cheshire.
