The bowl's diameter is exactly 13 3/4 across, and it's approximately 3 inches high. Elegant look and proportions, and the expertly laid down threading on the reverse side is captivating. I can easily imagine a spare ikebana arrangement in this bowl!

The finely ground pontil on the bottom attests to the hand-made aspect of this bowl. The weight is significant at 4 1/2 pounds!
That, as we might say, is a lot of lead!

I was informed by an advanced glass collector and expert, many years ago, that if you look into a bowl or vase and there's an optical illusion of sorts, making you wonder where the bottom is, that you're holding a high-quality piece of glass. This piece passes that test!
