Description: A gorgeous four-panel tabletop screen, made of black-lacquered wood. Mother-of-pearl compositions on each panel, with birds on blooming flower branches … more A gorgeous four-panel tabletop screen, made of black-lacquered wood. Mother-of-pearl compositions on each panel, with birds on blooming flower branches as a repeating motif
Gold meander borders. On the other side are four stylized foliate panels, hand painted with gold and four-character inscriptions on each - bamboo, chrysanthemum, miscanthus silvergrass and a blooming tree branch. Brass hinges. All fold together as pictured.
Chinese in origin, first half/mid 20th century
Measurements: Approx. 18" x 14" overall, when folded out. Each panel is about 14" x 4.5"
