Standing on a base with carved peony motif, the dancer has a serene face with pursed lips under downcast eyes and straight nose. She wears a long robe that covers her hands and legs. The dancer's face and bodice are silvered. The stone is of a granite nature and shows splendid colors when wet. The silvered face and body are iridescent under the light and in water. Sculpture was acquired in Shan Xi Province in northern China. See less
